The Scope Session
The part losing you money is not the build.
One session. One live deal. You leave with the number, three phases, the not-included list, and the words for when the client asks for more.
$300 founding rate, first ten. Bring one live or pending deal. Nothing to pay until the end of the session.
You have been paid by a client. At least one.
So the building works.
The part nobody sat you down for is the twenty minutes after the client says yes.
You quote a number and hear your own voice go up at the end.
The scope lives in a thread.
Somebody says "can you just add this one thing" and you hear yourself say sure, I will fold that in.
Then the project ends and you work out what you made per hour.
You tell nobody.
And you sign up for more training, because you think the broken part is technical.
The build is the part you already do well.
Your live deal, priced and written down before the call ends.
The Scope Session. One call. Your live deal, not a case study.
You bring a quote you are about to send. We price it, phase it, and write it down while you are still on the call.
You leave with six things.
Six things for the twenty minutes after the yes, in writing before we hang up.
- The number for this deal, and the internal check behind it. Your figure, not a formula.
- Three phases. Each one carries a fee and a date.
- The not-included list for this scope, written down.
- The words for "can you just add". Written for your deal, not handed to you as a script.
- A four sentence recap email you paste and send the same evening.
- The filled sheet, yours, to run again on the next deal.
Six items. We check them off out loud before the call ends.
$300 founding rate, first ten. Bring one live or pending deal. Nothing to pay until the end of the session.
What each one replaces, starting with "sure, I will fold that in."
Two columns. Left is what you leave with, right is what it takes out of your week.
| You leave with | It removes |
|---|---|
| Your number, and the check behind it | "I cannot charge that yet, I do not have results" |
| Three phases, each with a fee and a date | A project with one number and one deadline, which has exactly one place to argue, and it is the end |
| The not-included list | The unwritten assumption that becomes the dispute |
| The words for "can you just add" | Hearing yourself say sure, I will fold that in |
| The four sentence recap | The friendly recap with no numbers, no dates and no exclusions in it |
| The filled sheet | The blank page on the next deal |
Bring a real deal, or we wait until you have one.
Bring a real deal. One you are quoting now or about to quote.
No deal, no session.
This is not a seriousness test. A session with no deal in it produces a pleasant conversation and nothing you send anybody. The whole method runs on a live number.
If you do not have one this week, wait until you do.
This is for you if the twenty minutes after the yes go undefined.
- You sell your own services under your own name.
- You have been paid by at least one client.
- You have heard yes and then watched it go quiet.
- Your scope grows and your price stays where it was.
- You own templates you have never sent to anybody.
Skip this if you want a template, a build, or a promise.
- You have not been paid by a client yet. Different problem, and this is not the fix.
- You want contract templates or a legal pack. You already own documents you do not use. More paper is the thing already not working.
- You want somebody to build the system for you. Different conversation, and it is not this page.
- You want a promise about how your client behaves. Read the next section first.
You leave with all six or you do not pay.
We check them item by item before the call ends. You pay nothing until we have.
Here is what it does not cover.
I will not promise you that your scope stops moving, or that the number holds, or that the deal closes. Those all depend on somebody who is not in the room. I am not in that conversation, so I cannot deliver that half of it, and I will not sell you a promise I cannot keep or evidence.
What I hand you in the room is mine to guarantee. What your client does with it is not.
$300 founding rate, first ten. Bring one live or pending deal. Nothing to pay until the end of the session.
$300, and one request afterwards.
$300. Founding rate, first ten.
Founding means you pay less, and I ask you for something afterwards.
Thirty days after the session we get back on for fifteen minutes. One question: what did you quote, and did the scope move without the price moving.
If the answer is worth repeating, you let me write it down and use your numbers. You approve the wording before it goes anywhere.
If you never answer, nothing changes. The rate is yours either way.
That is why the price is lower. I am asking you, not charging you for it. What I want is not a review. It is a result I show the next person.
The standard price is not set and I am not going to quote you one.
If you go on to have the system built with me, this fee comes off it. I am not putting a number for that on a web page for work I have not scoped yet.
Why the price is low: I have not written down anyone's twenty minutes yet.
I have no documented client result for pricing or scope work. None.
I could write you the paragraph. You have read those before. You have also spent more on programs than those paragraphs turned out to be worth.
So the first ten are priced at what an unproven thing is worth, and I am telling you which one it is rather than hoping you do not ask.
That is the same move you are buying. Price at conviction. Discount honestly for the gap. Say out loud which of the two you are doing.
I have thrown a number out on a live call myself.
On a call this July I was working out the price for a build. Twenty three minutes in, I said, I'll just throw a number out there. Two to three thousand for the project. Two to five hundred a month after that.
That is four numbers. A range, and a range on the range.
That deal never closed. Not because the price was too high. Because there was never a price.
I will run every session myself.

I gave a talk called Price It. Phase It. Paper It. at the AI Insights Summit on September 19, 2026. This session is that talk, run on your deal instead of to a conference audience.
Before you tell me you need to get better at the technical side first.
I need to get better at the technical side first.
You already got paid. The thing losing money is not the build.
I cannot charge that yet. I do not have results.
Neither do I, for this offer. Read the price section again. You are allowed to price at conviction and discount honestly for the proof you do not have yet. What you are not allowed to do is pretend the gap is not there. Naming it is the move.
That is a lot for a conversation.
You keep the scope document either way, and if you go on to build with me the fee comes off it. If you leave the call without all six items, see the guarantee.
I do not have time for another thing.
One call. No software, no login, no course, no community. You bring a deal you were already going to quote this week.
What if my deal is small?
Bring it. The size of the deal does not change the twenty minutes.
What if I have two deals?
Bring the one you are quoting soonest. The sheet you leave with runs again on the second one without me.
Do I have to give a testimonial?
I will ask for one. It is thirty days out rather than at the end of the call. At the end of a call everybody is pleased. Thirty days later you know whether the number held. You approve every word before it is used anywhere. If you say no, the rate does not change.
Will you name me or my client?
Only what you approve in writing, and never your client. Your client is not part of this arrangement.
Do you record the session?
Not unless you ask. It is off by default. If you want a recording to keep, say so at the start and I will record it for you. It goes to you and nobody else.
What happens after?
If you want the system built rather than scoped, there is a Build Partnership and this fee credits against it. We talk about it on the call or not at all. It is not for sale on this page.
Bring a deal. Book the session.
$300 founding rate, first ten. Bring one live or pending deal. Nothing to pay until the end of the session.
What are you quoting this week?
